PROBLEM STATEMENT

Why SMSB

In India, a woman dies of Breast Cancer every 8 minutes. The high mortality rate is due to lack of awareness and delay in screening and diagnosis. Only 9 out of 100 women have ever participated in Breast Cancer Screening in India, as per NFHS-5. Since many women with Breast Cancer might not show any symptoms, hence, regular Breast Cancer Screening is important.

Know More

Preventative health education is neither a part of school curriculums nor a part of at-home education.

To address the need to a population as big as India, there is a need for health innovation.

Women find out about their status instantly if they are NOT AT RISK.

Women that are suspected are instantly aligned with the subsequent testing to confirm their diagnosis without delay.

Self Breast Examination is an important tool to detect breast cancer early. All women must be trained on examining themselves at home.

A painless, radiation free and affordable health tool aims to tackle the inhibitions that are keeping women away from health centres.
